I've played soccer since I was a kid, and every year, a group of less than 20 women meet three times a week to work together towards a shared goal/experience. This may not seem relatable to activism, but the sport has taught me the power of collaboration, progress, determination, dedication, failure, and success, but most importantly, even when you're outnumbered or disadvantaged you get some wins.

To be a "leftist" (not a Democrat, but a real leftist) has been a losing battle, but giving up isn't an option.
