As a Californian living in Australia, I realise we’re always on fire. My heart breaks everyday as I switch between the Californian fires to the Australian. The scariest part is California and Australia have had a long standing support system of sharing fire-fighters and water dropping aircraft, but the fires in the northern and southern hemisphere no longer occur at opposite times of the year.
We are on fire year round and still no climate change mitigation, adaptation, and support. I am running out of ideas, but Australians standby Californians as we battle these fires mentally and physically. Xo
