An equal balance of power-seeking the good of the people and the environment is ideal. The left nor the right anywhere is perfect, but intervention by the US disrupts democracy. Public-owned natural resources and government regulation have disappeared, and I don't think this is news for you - we need an economic system benefitting the majority and the climate.

The US is being cut out of trade in South America as China assumes global leadership, and this isn't going down well with the US, but trust in the US is non-existent. Not every nation seeks modernization like the developed nations, but many nations don't have food sovereignty, etc. Trade is essential, and finding a way to manage our economies to provide basic needs, environmental justice, and well-being isn't going to be easy for any of us.
