Recently, I looked up the origins of violence and read that we didn't become violent until we became an agrarian society. Droughts and food scarcity influenced violent behavior, but we don't have a violent gene. We're products of our environment, and we're living in the anti-enlightenment, pseudo-intellectual era. Sigh.
