A recent Twitter war between Australia and the US captured the American obsession with ownership. Property-defending Americans threatened to use their weapons to harm an Australian rental activist because he published addresses of vacant/abandoned Australian homes to assist house-stressed people.

The activist is a legend, supporting renters while developers withhold rental properties to intentionally increase rent by creating a supply shortage. Yet, Americans viciously hurled insults because we're dedicated to protecting private ownership regardless of location.
